Let’s talk about your eyes. Eyes can be so alluring, magnetizing if you will; and as we age we develop wrinkles around our eyes and they lose some of the lift that maintains their beauty. Let’s talk about some ways we work on brightening those eyes and the area around them.
A combination of loss of skin elasticity and collagen, and skin movement are the main causes of crow’s feet – crow’s feet are . As we age, our skin loses elastin (its stretch) and collagen (its plumpness), but sun damage, free radicals and hormone changes elevate this. On average we blink 15–20 times a minute (that’s 20,000 times per day), causing the facial muscles to crinkle and almost constantly move. Blinking aside all facial movements, whether they are happy or sad, will eventually cause lines and wrinkles.
At BeWell MedSpa we offer many solutions to significantly reduce and prevent crow’s feet from forming by inhibiting the movement of the muscles around the eyes.
Microneedling
This minimally invasive technique boosts your skin’s production of collagen, an essential protein that helps keep the skin looking youthful, with a firm, smooth, and stretchy texture. A dermapen makes thousands of tiny needle punctures in the outermost layers of the skin and stimulates your body to make more collagen in the area, rejuvenating and rebuilding the skin.
Botox
Botox works to smooth out wrinkles caused by repetitive muscle contractions that happen when you make facial expressions and is best suited for people who would like to both prevent them from forming and eliminate them upon arrival. Botox prevents the muscles from contracting, which eliminates the appearance of wrinkles. Botox is particularly effective in people with dynamic wrinkles. Botox will not keep you from making facial expressions. It will only target those muscles around the eyes that are causing your crow’s feet.
Chemical peels
Chemical peels can improve the appearance of crow’s feet and promote healthier skin. This is accomplished by putting a chemical solution on the face that removes the outer layer of old skin, leaving behind new, smoother skin.
